Fall Festivities
Fall Festivities
Happy Fall!
During this special time of the year, we celebrate everything characteristic of the transition to autumn, including slightly cooler temperatures, leaves falling to the ground, and the notorious pumpkin flavored treats. Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season of the year, as it is the perfect time to engage in fall themed activities with your friends.
Fall Chapter Events
Within Best Buddies, autumn provides an outlet for your chapter to pursue unique activities that may otherwise not be available during other seasons. Here are a few ideas of chapter events for the fall season!
1. Find a local pumpkin patch or farm in your area! Many of these venues will allow groups to visit throughout the week to pick pumpkins, tour corn mazes, feed animals, and more.
2. Bring your chapter to a fall festival! Here in Wisconsin, we have lots of festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival, Cranberry Fest, and Fall Heritage Festival. Whatever your state might have to offer, try to locate an appropriate festival where you and your buddy can have some delicious food, try some carnival rides, and have a great time.
3. While the weather is still nice out, arrange an outdoor fall scavenger hunt or sporting event. This is a perfect way to get outside and stay active with your friends!
4. When Halloween starts to approach, host a costume party or another spooky event at your school! This is a great time of year to show your Best Buddies spirit by dressing up together for Halloween. More specifically, think about a certain theme your whole chapter could dress up as, such as Disney characters, animals, and more.
5. Organize a fall-themed party within your school. For example, our chapter hosted a pumpkin painting party, where we decorated pumpkins with our buddy families and brought in some tasty fall snacks. What you decide to include in your party is up to you!

Above all, when planning these fall events, make sure that they are fully accommodating and accessible for everyone in your chapter. If your buddy is ever feeling overwhelmed, take a break with them or find another engaging activity. Remember that being a buddy means you are always there for one another and working to build a meaningful friendship throughout the seasons.

In friendship,
Nathan
