How To Handle A Loss

I’m here to talk about some healthy ways to handle a loss. When you lose someone in your life, it can be a difficult process to go through. Here are some ways I have found to help with the pain.

  1. Call a close friend or family member and talk to them about it. This can help with openly discussing a loss and finding ways to cope with it instead of dealing with the process on your own.
  2. Find a hobby, either something old or new, that you can use to keep your mind off the news. For example, crafting or cooking have helped me.
  3. Listen to and dance along with upbeat music, as this can help with avoiding to sit around and thinking about it.
  4. Go for a walk outside and explore a new place to get your body moving.
  5. If you are religious, pray to them that they will help you through it.




With all these ideas, I hope you will get through the grieving process. Don’t give up, because with time, you can ultimately heal. It can be hard around the Christmas season, but go through this list and it can help you. 


We all go through a loss at some point. But we can also overcome it. It may take a while and that's okay. Try to focus on the positive and stay strong.
